CHRISTOPHER'S HOUSE

We only got to read 1 short chapter today - "Christopher's House." In this chapter Auggie overhears his parents talking to Christopher's parents about him starting "real school" instead of being homeschooled. Auggie's mom feels like it's time and Auggie is ready. His dad doesn't think so. Auggie doesn't want to go.

Wow! Think about how Auggie must feel. He has never even thought about going to school before. How would you feel if you were him?

  1. I wouldn't want to go. I would be afraid people would make fun of me and that would hurt my feelings alot.

    1. It's very easy to identify with Auggie and understand how he feels. I think we have all felt self-conscious at one time or another and worried if people would like us or if we were going to be made fun of.

  2. I would feel nervous and maybe some kids would ignore the way Auggie looked and be his friend for who he is on the inside not the outside.

  3. I would be terrified to go to school especially if it wasnt a good school because then you'd be bullied AND u wouldn't even learn.

  7. i would feel scared because it is hard enough to be a new kid so i think it would be hard for a kid like Auggie

  8. Do you think Jack Will really meant what he said when he told Julian that he wasn't really friends with Auggie,or do you think he only said that to convince Julian that he is cool enough to be his friend? I was thinking that Jack Will might be going through peer pressure, but he can't just ditch Auggie. He needs to convince everyone that Auggie is the same as everyone else. His face doesn't matter.
