We have finally begun reading A Long Walk to Water. I have been looking forward to this moment since I first read the book last spring.
We are finished with chapters 1 - 5 and so far have learned about 11-year-old, hard-working Nya, who walks for hours every day to get water for her family. We have also learned about 11-year-old, hopeful Salva. Salva's story takes place in 1985. He became separated from his family and is walking across southern Sudan, hoping to find them as he walks.

When we left off in chapter 5, Salva had heard someone call his name. At the end of the chapter it said, "Salva turned. His mouth fell open in amazement, but he could not speak."

Who do you think it is?
